The Department of Military Affairs (DMA) has recorded significant progress in cleanliness drives, record management and disposal of pending matters following the nationwide Special Campaign 5.0 on Swachhata conducted in October 2025. Between November 2025 and August 2026, the DMA organised 329 Swachhata campaigns, during which 18,255 files were reviewed and 8,688 files weeded out as part of efforts to streamline official records and improve administrative efficiency. India’s cheetah population has increased to 52, four years after the species was reintroduced into the country from three African nations, marking the world’s first intercontinental translocation of large wild carnivores.
