As India prepares to celebrate National Unity Day (Ekta Diwas) on October 31, 2026, Ekta Nagar, home to the iconic Statue of Unity, has become a vibrant centre of national integration, discipline and patriotic spirit. A contingent of 200 selected National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets representing all 17 NCC Directorates across the country has assembled for the Special National Integration Camp (SNIC) to prepare for the national celebrations.
Inspired by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the architect of India’s political integration, the cadets are participating in an intensive programme combining physical training, leadership development and cultural exchange. The camp embodies the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’, highlighting the strength of India’s diversity and the shared values that unite its people.
The daily training schedule emphasises physical fitness, discipline and mental resilience. Early-morning physical training, drill practice and yoga sessions are helping cadets develop endurance, coordination and a strong sense of teamwork. The synchronised drills reflect the precision, commitment and collective spirit expected of the young participants.
Alongside physical training, interactive workshops and expert lectures focus on leadership, ethical decision-making, public speaking and crisis management. These activities aim to strengthen the cadets’ confidence, sense of responsibility and ability to contribute meaningfully to society.
Cultural integration remains a key component of the camp. Cadets from different regions are engaging in exchanges of languages, traditions, folklore and personal experiences, fostering mutual understanding and friendships across regional and cultural boundaries.
The primary focus of the ongoing camp is preparation for the Ekta Diwas parade and cultural presentations scheduled for October 31. Marching together as one contingent, the cadets are translating India’s regional diversity into a collective display of discipline, solidarity and national pride.
The forthcoming celebrations at the Statue of Unity are expected to feature precision marching contingents, national integration presentations and ceremonial tributes honouring Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s enduring contribution to India’s unity.
Through the SNIC, the NCC continues to promote discipline, leadership, patriotism and national integration among young Indians, reinforcing the message that India’s greatest strength lies in its unity amid diversity.
