Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a three-nation tour to Indonesia, Australia and New Zealand from July 6 to 11 to strengthen bilateral ties, enhance economic cooperation and engage with the Indian diaspora.
The visit will begin in Indonesia from July 6 to 8 at the invitation of President Prabowo Subianto. During his fourth visit to the country and first bilateral trip since the elevation of India-Indonesia relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2018, Modi will hold talks with President Prabowo to review bilateral cooperation. He will also address the Indian diaspora in Jakarta and visit the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Prambanan Temple complex in Yogyakarta.
From Indonesia, the Prime Minister will travel to Melbourne, Australia, from July 8 to 10 at the invitation of Prime Minister Anthony Albanese. The two leaders are expected to discuss ways to deepen strategic and economic cooperation. Modi will also meet Governor-General Sam Mostyn, participate in the India-Australia CEOs Forum, and address members of the Indian diaspora.
The final leg of the tour will take Modi to Auckland, New Zealand, from July 10 to 11 at the invitation of Prime Minister Christopher Luxon. The visit will mark the first official trip by an Indian Prime Minister to New Zealand in four decades. Discussions will cover the full spectrum of bilateral ties, with a focus on trade, commerce and defence. Modi will also interact with leading business and sports personalities and address the Indian community.
The three-nation tour is expected to further strengthen India’s engagement with key partners in the Indo-Pacific region while reinforcing people-to-people and economic ties.
