91st edition of ‘Sundays on Cycle’ brings Indian community together to support Asian Games 2026 contingent.
Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya led the 91st edition of ‘Sundays on Cycle’ at Meijō Park in Nagoya, Japan, on September 20, bringing together members of the Indian diaspora to cheer for and encourage the Indian contingent competing at the Asian Games 2026.
The event combined fitness, community participation and support for Team India, reflecting the Government’s efforts to strengthen people-to-people ties with the Indian diaspora through sport while promoting healthy and active lifestyles under the Fit India Movement.
Dr. Mandaviya interacted with participants and appreciated the enthusiasm of the Indian community in Nagoya for coming together to support Indian athletes competing on the continental stage.
The gathering turned the weekly cycling initiative into a celebration of Team India, with members of the diaspora extending their support and encouragement to the athletes.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Mandaviya said that India’s contingent comprises more than 500 young athletes participating in the Asian Games and highlighted the enthusiasm of the Indian community in Nagoya.
“Our contingent is performing well, and our diaspora is working hard to boost their morale,” Dr. Mandaviya said.
He also praised the energy and enthusiasm of the Indian diaspora, noting their strong support for the Indian athletes during the Games.
Promoting Fitness Through Cycling:
Dr. Mandaviya is in Nagoya for the Asian Games 2026, where he is meeting Indian athletes, officials and members of the diaspora. His engagements highlight the Government’s focus on promoting sporting excellence while encouraging fitness and healthy living.
Fit India Sundays on Cycle is organised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports in collaboration with the Cycling Federation of India, Raahgiri Foundation and MY Bharat.
The cycling initiative is held simultaneously across States and Union Territories, including at Sports Authority of India (SAI) Regional Centres, National Centres of Excellence, SAI Training Centres, Khelo India State Centres of Excellence and Khelo India Centres.
More than 6,000 Namo Fit India Clubs also participate in the weekly cycling initiative across the country, helping take the message of fitness and active living to communities nationwide.
The Nagoya edition added an international dimension to the initiative, bringing together fitness and community spirit as the Indian diaspora rallied behind Team India at the Asian Games.
