The Indian Army has strengthened civil defence preparedness in Jammu and Kashmir through a three-day residential training camp under its ‘Train with Your Army’ initiative, themed “Sashakt Nagrik, Surakshit Rashtra” (Empowered Citizens, Secure Nation).
Organised by the White Knight Corps under the aegis of Northern Command, the camp was conducted at the Corps Battle School, Sarol, Rajouri, from October 17 to 19, in coordination with the Civil Defence Organisation and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), Jammu and Kashmir.

The programme trained 50 participants, including 16 SDRF personnel and 34 Civil Defence volunteers from Jammu, Doda, Samba, Akhnoor, Sunderbani, Nowshera and Rajouri.
The training focused on emerging security challenges, including hybrid warfare, drone threats, air raids, information warfare and cyber threats. Participants also received practical instruction in survival techniques and emergency response procedures, enhancing their ability to respond effectively to evolving threats and crisis situations.

The camp concluded on October 19, with outstanding trainees felicitated by Major General Manoj Kumar Ruria, VSM, General Officer Commanding, Ace of Spades Division. The closing ceremony was attended by the Deputy Commissioner, Rajouri; the DIG, Civil Defence, Jammu and Kashmir Police and SDRF; the SSP, Rajouri; and other representatives of the district administration.
