The India-UAE Joint Military Exercise Mountain Guardian 2026 concluded at the Foreign Training Node, Chaubatia, Uttarakhand, following two weeks of intensive joint training conducted from October 5 to 18, 2026.
The exercise brought together troops of the Indian Army and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Armed Forces to enhance interoperability, strengthen operational coordination and improve combat effectiveness through coordinated military training and field-level engagements.
During the exercise, participating troops undertook joint planning, tactical drills and integrated field exercises, with a particular focus on sub-conventional operations. The training provided an opportunity for both forces to exchange operational experiences, refine tactical procedures and develop a shared understanding of joint mission requirements.
The exercise emphasised coordinated planning and execution in challenging operational scenarios, reinforcing the ability of the two forces to operate together effectively. Such engagements play a crucial role in building mutual trust, improving communication and developing common operational approaches among partner militaries.
The successful conclusion of Mountain Guardian 2026 underscored the growing defence cooperation between India and the UAE, reflecting the shared commitment of both countries to professional military excellence, enhanced interoperability and closer institutional ties between their armed forces.
The exercise also reaffirmed the importance of regular bilateral military engagements in strengthening defence partnerships and promoting greater cooperation in addressing shared security challenges.
Through continued joint training and military exchanges, India and the UAE are seeking to deepen operational co-operation and further consolidate their strategic defence partnership.
