Minister of State for Defence Shri Sanjay Seth inaugurated VISV-2026 (Vision, Innovation, Synergy and Values), organised by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) in collaboration with the Centre for Joint Warfare Studies (CENJOWS), at the Manekshaw Centre, New Delhi today.
Held under the theme “Showcasing Defence Capabilities, Strengthening Global Partnerships”, the event featured a seminar on “DRDO Defence Solutions for Partner Nations: From Technology to Strategic Partnerships”, highlighting India’s growing indigenous defence capabilities and its commitment to strengthening international defence cooperation.
Addressing the gathering, Minister of State for Defence Shri Sanjay Seth emphasised the four pillars of VISV — Vision, Innovation, Synergy and Values — as essential to building a technologically advanced and self-reliant defence ecosystem. He highlighted the importance of anticipating future security challenges, transforming research into practical defence solutions and fostering collaboration among the Armed Forces, research institutions, industry and international partners.

Underscoring the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat and Viksit Bharat @ 2047, he stressed that indigenous research, design, development and manufacturing capabilities would strengthen India’s strategic autonomy while enabling the country to make greater contributions to international defence partnerships.
He also acknowledged DRDO’s significant role in advancing indigenous defence technologies and highlighted the contributions of Indian scientists, engineers and industry in developing solutions to meet emerging security challenges.
A major highlight of the event was the release of a foreign-language compendium of DRDO products in Arabic, Spanish and French. The initiative is aimed at enhancing awareness of India’s defence technologies among international partners and facilitating greater engagement with friendly nations.
Defence Secretary and Secretary, Department of Defence Research and Development, and Chairman DRDO, Shri Rajesh Kumar Singh, highlighted the importance of integrating technological expertise, industrial capacity and institutional partnerships to strengthen India’s defence preparedness and international outreach.
Secretary, Defence Production, Shri Sanjeev Kumar highlighted India’s expanding defence manufacturing capabilities and the potential to move beyond traditional buyer-seller arrangements towards joint development, co-production and manufacturing partnerships. He also announced that formal invitations were being extended to international counterparts for Aero India 2027, scheduled to be held in Bengaluru.
Foreign Secretary Shri Vikram Misri highlighted the evolving role of defence diplomacy amid changing geopolitical and technological dynamics, emphasising strategic autonomy, multi-alignment, trust and cooperation in emerging technology domains.
The programme also featured an interactive discussion on “Avenues for Joint Collaborations and Partnerships”, bringing together representatives from DRDO, CENJOWS, the Department of Defence Production, the Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers (SIDM), Indian industry and Defence Attachés. Discussions explored opportunities in defence exports, technology exchanges, product adaptation, co-development, co-production and industrial collaboration.
With participation from Defence Attachés, foreign diplomatic missions, senior government officials, the Armed Forces, academia and the Indian defence industry, VISV-2026 provided an important platform to showcase India’s indigenous defence research and manufacturing strengths.
The event reaffirmed India’s commitment to building a robust, self-reliant defence industrial ecosystem while developing long-term, trusted and mutually beneficial strategic partnerships with friendly nations.
