Punjab Police, in coordination with the Border Security Force (BSF), has carried out two separate operations in the border districts of Tarn Taran and Amritsar, leading to the recovery of arms, ammunition, and narcotics, along with the arrest of three alleged smugglers.
In a joint operation with the BSF in Tarn Taran, police recovered eight sophisticated weapons, including an MP-09 submachine gun. One person has been arrested in connection with the seizure.
In another operation in Amritsar, police confiscated 10 kilograms of heroin and arrested two individuals allegedly involved in cross-border drug smuggling.
Investigations are underway to trace the wider network and establish links behind the cross-border arms and narcotics smuggling activities.
