The Chenab Bridge, the world’s highest railway arch bridge located in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir, has emerged as a major attraction for pilgrims undertaking the annual Shri Amarnath  Yatra.

Thousands of devotees travelling through the region are making brief stops to witness the engineering marvel that stands tall over the Chenab River. The iconic structure has become a popular sightseeing and photography spot, adding a unique experience to the spiritual journey of pilgrims.

Visitors have expressed admiration for the bridge, describing it as a symbol of India’s engineering capabilities and the ongoing infrastructure transformation in Jammu and Kashmir. Many pilgrims are capturing photographs and videos of the landmark before proceeding towards the holy Amarnath Cave Shrine.

The Chenab Bridge is a key component of the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) project, aimed at improving rail connectivity in the region. The bridge has not only strengthened transportation links but has also emerged as one of Jammu and Kashmir’s prominent tourist and infrastructure landmarks.

With its remarkable design and strategic importance, the Chenab Bridge continues to draw visitors and showcase the region’s growing connectivity and development.

The Indian Army plays a key role in ensuring the safety and security of Amarnath Yatra pilgrims in Jammu and Kashmir by providing area domination, route security, surveillance and emergency assistance along the pilgrimage routes. Troops coordinate with the civil administration and other security forces to maintain a secure environment, assist pilgrims during emergencies, and respond swiftly to any security challenges, enabling devotees to undertake the annual pilgrimage safely.
