    Prime Minister Highlights Transformation of India’s Defence Capabilities Driven by Self-Reliance and Innovation

    Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has highlighted the remarkable transformation of India’s defence capabilities over the past decade, underscoring the country’s progress in achieving self-reliance through innovation, technology and indigenous manufacturing.

    In a post on X, the Prime Minister emphasized the significant strides made in strengthening India’s defence preparedness and building a robust indigenous defence ecosystem. He noted that the advancements achieved over the last 12 years reflect the Government’s sustained focus on enhancing national security while reducing dependence on foreign defence equipment.

    The Prime Minister stated that India has made substantial progress in modernising its armed forces and expanding indigenous capabilities across multiple domains, including air, land and maritime defence. He highlighted the role of technological innovation and domestic manufacturing in strengthening the nation’s defence architecture and advancing the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat.

    The Prime Minister wrote on X:
    “India’s defence capabilities have witnessed significant transformation over the last decade, guided by the vision of self-reliance and powered by innovation, technology and indigenous manufacturing. This thread gives a glimpse of the strides India has made in the defence sector over the last 12 years.

    He further stated:
    “This thread explains how India has strengthened its defence capabilities across air, land and sea, advanced indigenous technologies and built a stronger foundation for self-reliance and national security.”

    The Prime Minister’s remarks come at a time when India’s defence sector continues to record significant achievements in indigenous production, defence exports, technological innovation and military modernisation. The growing emphasis on domestic research, development and manufacturing has contributed to enhancing operational readiness while strengthening the country’s strategic autonomy.

    The transformation of India’s defence capabilities over the past decade reflects the nation’s commitment to building a modern, self-reliant and technologically advanced defence ecosystem capable of meeting emerging security challenges and safeguarding national interests.
