In a significant step towards bolstering the security architecture ahead of the forthcoming Independence Day celebrations, the Red Shield Division, under the aegis of Spear Corps, organised a Security Conference at Laipuli on 01 July 2026 as part of the ongoing Military–Civil Fusion initiative.
The conference brought together senior Army officials and representatives of the Assam Police, including the Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) of Tinsukia and Dibrugarh, to review the prevailing security environment and reinforce inter-agency coordination for the smooth and secure conduct of national celebrations.
Deliberations centred on intelligence sharing, coordinated preventive measures, proactive security planning and enhancing operational synergy among stakeholders to effectively address evolving security challenges. The discussions underscored the importance of a unified and integrated approach in ensuring a robust security framework during the Independence Day period.
The conference concluded with all participating agencies reaffirming their commitment to seamless coordination, timely information exchange and collaborative action to ensure a safe, secure and incident-free Independence Day.
The initiative reflects the Indian Army’s continued emphasis on Military–Civil Fusion as a force multiplier in maintaining peace and stability. By fostering closer cooperation with civil administration and law enforcement agencies, the Red Shield Division continues to strengthen institutional partnerships, enhance operational preparedness and contribute to the overall security and stability of the region.
