Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is scheduled to participate in ‘Vimarsh 2026’ in New Delhi on 15 September 2026, with the event focusing on strengthening India’s journey towards greater self-reliance in the defence sector.
Organised by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) under the theme ‘Self-Reliance in the Defence Sector: From Dialogue to Development’, the event will bring focus to indigenous technologies, defence innovation and accelerated technological advancement.
Vimarsh 2026 is envisaged as an important platform for bringing together stakeholders from the defence ecosystem to promote dialogue, collaboration and the development of indigenous capabilities. The initiative aims to encourage greater synergy among researchers, innovators, industry and other stakeholders in advancing home-grown defence technologies.
The event comes amid India’s continued push towards Atmanirbharta in Defence, with a growing emphasis on indigenous research, development, manufacturing and the integration of emerging technologies into the country’s defence capabilities.
The deliberations at Vimarsh 2026 are expected to reinforce efforts towards building a robust domestic defence-industrial and technological ecosystem, while enhancing India’s ability to design, develop and produce advanced defence systems.
The initiative further underscores the government’s focus on leveraging innovation, indigenous technology and collaborative development to strengthen India’s defence preparedness and technological prowess.
