    DG NCC REVIEWS INAUGURAL BASIC PARAMOTORS TRAINING OF NCC CADETS IN GUWAHATI

    The National Cadet Corps is scaling new heights in adventure training, with major milestone achieved by commencement of Basic Paramotors Course at NIMAS node in Guwahati Assam. in collaboration with NIMAS.

    Lt Gen Virendra Vats, YSM, SM, VSM, Director General NCC, during his visit to NCC North Eastern Region Directorate on 11th May witnessed the training of 50 NCC senior division boy cadets in the ongoing Basic Paramotors Course at the NIMAS Paramotors Node, Panikheti, Guwahati.

    Fifty NCC cadets from across the North Eastern Region are undergoing exclusive paramotor flying training from 04 May 2026 till 19 May 2026 under qualified instructors of the National Institute of Mountaineering & Adventure Sports. This is the first such dedicated course for NCC cadets in the region, aimed at promoting aero-adventure sports and fostering the spirit of adventure, courage, and discipline.

    During the visit, DG NCC interacted with the trainees, witness live paramotor flying demonstrations, and reviewed the training infrastructure established at Panikheti. The course covers ground handling, motor operations, flight theory, emergency procedures, and solo flying under strict safety norms.

    Speaking on the course DG NCC said, “Paramotors training gives cadets wings — literally and figuratively. It builds confidence, decision-making, and the ‘Touch the Sky with Glory’ ethos of the NCC.” He said in future these courses are being organised for NCC cadets from all over the country including girls cadets.
    He emphasised that the inaugural Paramotors Course underscore NCC’s renewed focus on high-end adventure training for the youth of India.
