Lieutenant General Gambhir Singh has formally handed over the command of the prestigious Gajraj Corps to Lieutenant General Neeraj Shukla on 1 April, an accomplished and highly experienced officer with an illustrious career in the Indian Army.
On the occasion, Lt Gen Gambhir Singh exhorted all ranks of the Gajraj Corps to continue their relentless efforts towards enhancing operational effectiveness and combat readiness. He emphasized the importance of upholding the rich traditions, values, and ethos of the Indian Army.
Lieutenant General V.M.B. Krishnan, Army Commander Eastern Command, congratulated Lt Gen Neeraj Shukla on assuming command of the Gajraj Corps. He also commended Lt Gen Gambhir Singh for his exemplary leadership and significant contributions during his tenure.
The change of command underscores the Indian Army’s continued commitment to operational excellence, professional leadership, and steadfast service to the nation.
Lt Gen Shukla is an alumnus of Mayo College, Ajmer; the National Defence Academy, Pune (President’s Medal) and the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun (Sword of Honour). He was also ‘First in Overall Merit’ at the Indian Military Academy and received an award.
