The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra 2026, conducted through the Lipulekh Pass route in Uttarakhand’s Pithoragarh district, concluded successfully on Sunday, with the return of the tenth and final batch of pilgrims to India.
The pilgrimage, which commenced on July 4, saw 477 pilgrims undertake the arduous journey in ten batches. The pilgrims travelled through the high-altitude Lipulekh route to Kailash Mansarovar and had darshan of the revered Mount Kailash and Mansarovar.
Yatra Officer Dhan Singh Bisht said the tenth batch returned safely to India, marking the successful completion of this year’s pilgrimage. He expressed gratitude to all government departments, agencies and Army personnel involved in facilitating the yatra and ensuring the safety and well-being of the pilgrims.
The annual pilgrimage involves movement through challenging mountainous terrain and high-altitude areas, making close coordination among civil administration, security forces and other agencies essential. Officials and personnel remain involved in arrangements related to the movement, logistics, security and safety of pilgrims throughout the journey.
The successful completion of the 2026 yatra marks the conclusion of another pilgrimage season on the Lipulekh route, with authorities and participating agencies working together to ensure the safe return of all batches.
