INS Chilka will host the Passing Out Parade (POP) of the 01/26 batch of trainees on 12 June 2026, marking the successful completion of 16 weeks of intensive ab-initio training for the eighth batch of Agniveers of the Indian Navy and Naviks of the Indian Coast Guard.
The parade signifies a major milestone in the transformation of young recruits into disciplined, resilient and professionally competent sea warriors, ready to serve the nation. Vice Admiral Sanjay Vatsayan, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Naval Command, will review the parade as the Chief Guest.
The event will be attended by family members of the passing-out trainees, veterans, distinguished sportspersons and other dignitaries. As part of the ceremony, the Reviewing Officer will preside over the Valedictory Function and present awards and trophies to outstanding trainees, the Champion Division and the Best Instructor. The bilingual trainees’ magazine Ankur will also be unveiled.
The Passing Out Parade underscores the Indian Navy’s commitment to training as the foundation of a professional fighting force. Following the ceremony, the trainees will proceed to specialised professional training at various naval establishments and undertake afloat attachments onboard frontline ships of the Indian Navy and Indian Coast Guard.
