India’s campaign in the AFC U17 Women’s Asian Cup China 2026 ended with a 0-3 defeat to hosts China PR in the quarter-finals at the Suzhou Sports Centre Stadium today. The loss also ended the Young Tigresses’ hopes of qualifying for the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup Morocco 2026, although India achieved its best-ever finish by reaching the knockout stage for the first time. China dominated possession from the start and took the lead in the 38th minute through Huang Qinyi after a well-worked move. Liu Yuxi doubled the advantage from the penalty spot in first-half stoppage time after Ritu Badaik fouled her inside the box. India struggled to create chances after the break as China controlled the game. Li Qixian sealed the win in the final minute after capitalising on a loose ball inside the penalty area.
