Indian Naval Ships (INS) Tarkash and Ikshak have concluded their port call at Port Victoria, Seychelles, after participating in the island nation’s National Day and Golden Jubilee celebrations while strengthening bilateral maritime cooperation.
During the visit, the marching contingent and Naval Band from INS Tarkash took part in the National Day Parade on June 28, attended by the Prime Minister of India as the Guest of Honour, highlighting the close maritime partnership between the two countries.
INS Ikshak welcomed more than 300 visitors onboard, showcasing its hydrographic survey capabilities and India’s contribution to hydrographic cooperation across the Indian Ocean Region.
As part of its outreach initiatives, the crew of INS Ikshak, in coordination with the High Commission of India in Seychelles, organised a health camp at the English River Home and distributed first-aid kits and other essential supplies to residents.
The deployment reaffirmed the Indian Navy’s commitment to deepening maritime cooperation with friendly nations in the Indian Ocean Region under the Government of India’s MAHASAGAR (Mutual and Holistic Advancement for Security and Growth Across Regions) vision. It also underscored India’s focus on enhancing interoperability, capacity building and regional maritime security while reinforcing its longstanding defence partnership with Seychelles.
