India secured their place in the men’s kabaddi semi-finals at the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya with a commanding 48–25 victory over Bangladesh at the Tokai Citizens Gymnasium on Wednesday.
The win marked India’s third consecutive victory in Group A, following comprehensive wins over hosts Japan and the Republic of Korea.
India dominated proceedings from the outset, with their raiding and defensive units combining effectively to collect 18 out points and seven bonus points in the opening half. Two All-Outs further strengthened India’s advantage as they raced to a 29–9 lead at half-time.
Bangladesh struggled to find a way through India’s defence, managing only five out points and three bonus points in the first half, along with a solitary Super Tackle.
India maintained their momentum after the break, with Arjun Deshwal replacing Devank Dalal as the team looked to sustain the pressure. Bangladesh improved considerably in attack and scored 16 points in the second half, but India continued to control the contest, adding 19 points of their own and completing another All-Out.
The 48–25 triumph confirmed India’s place in the men’s kabaddi semi-finals. They will conclude their Group A campaign against Chinese Taipei at 9:45 AM on September 24, with the Indian team continuing its bid for a ninth men’s kabaddi gold medal at the Asian Games.
