     INDIAN ARMY HONOURS PORTERS ON LABOUR DAY IN ARUNACHAL PRADESH

    Spearhead Division of Spearcorps commemorated Labour Day at forward locations at Lamang and Menchuka valley, paying tribute to the dedication, resilience and invaluable contribution of porters who continue to play a vital role in sustaining operations in challenging high-altitude terrain.

    As part of the observance, a meaningful interaction and tea gathering was organised with the porters, recognising their hard work and steadfast support in ensuring movement of essential stores, supplies and logistics to remote forward areas. More than 50 porters participated in the gathering, which provided an opportunity for informal interaction, expression of gratitude and strengthening of mutual trust.

    The event highlighted the important role played by local porters as an essential link in operational sustenance, particularly in difficult terrain and adverse weather conditions. Their contribution reflects courage, commitment and quiet service in support of the nation’s security framework.

    The gathering also reinforced the strong bond between the Indian Army and local communities in border areas. Such initiatives under the spirit of Operation Sadbhavana continue to promote respect, cooperation and civil-military camaraderie at the grassroots level.

    The commemoration concluded with a message of gratitude and appreciation towards the porters, acknowledging them as a dependable backbone of operational support in the frontier region.
    On Labour Day,Indian Army showcased its human side by honouring the vital contribution of porters. These porters play a crucial role in supporting troops, especially in challenging terrains and high-altitude areas. The gesture recognized their dedication, resilience, and often unseen sacrifices. By celebrating their efforts, the Army highlighted the importance of every individual behind mission success. The tribute served as a reminder of dignity in labour and shared commitment to the nation.
