Spearhead Division of Spearcorps commemorated Labour Day at forward locations at Lamang and Menchuka valley, paying tribute to the dedication, resilience and invaluable contribution of porters who continue to play a vital role in sustaining operations in challenging high-altitude terrain.
As part of the observance, a meaningful interaction and tea gathering was organised with the porters, recognising their hard work and steadfast support in ensuring movement of essential stores, supplies and logistics to remote forward areas. More than 50 porters participated in the gathering, which provided an opportunity for informal interaction, expression of gratitude and strengthening of mutual trust.
The event highlighted the important role played by local porters as an essential link in operational sustenance, particularly in difficult terrain and adverse weather conditions. Their contribution reflects courage, commitment and quiet service in support of the nation’s security framework.
