The Indian Army successfully concluded an Agniveer Recruitment Rally at Gyaptong Regional Stadium, Rupa, Arunachal Pradesh, conducted by the Army Recruiting Office (ARO), Jorhat, under the aegis of Headquarters Recruiting Zone, Shillong.
Held from 9 to 11 September 2026, the recruitment rally provided shortlisted candidates from across Arunachal Pradesh an opportunity to compete for induction into the Indian Army under the Agnipath scheme.
More than 359 aspirants shortlisted through the Online Common Entrance Examination held earlier this year participated in the recruitment process. The candidates underwent a series of rigorous assessments, including Physical Fitness Tests, Physical Measurement Tests, document verification and medical examinations.
The rally was conducted with emphasis on transparency, fairness and adherence to established recruitment procedures. The event also received strong support from the civil administration and local authorities, which contributed to the smooth and efficient conduct of the recruitment process.
The enthusiastic participation of local youth reflected the continuing aspiration among young people in Arunachal Pradesh to join the Indian Army and contribute to national service. The recruitment rally also reinforced the Army’s commitment to providing youth from the Northeast with opportunities to pursue a career in the Armed Forces.

The event was attended by senior Army officials and civil dignitaries, who interacted with the aspirants and encouraged them to maintain discipline, determination and commitment throughout the selection process.
The final merit list will be published in due course.
The Indian Army expressed its appreciation to the civil administration and people of Arunachal Pradesh for their co-operation and support in ensuring the successful conduct of the recruitment rally, while congratulating all the aspirants who participated in the selection process.
