In a significant development along the Line of Actual Control (LAC), Indian and Chinese military commanders are holding their first Corps Commander-level meeting in the eastern sector in Arunachal Pradesh, marking a new channel of high-level military engagement between the two sides in the region.
The meeting is being held at Wacha-Damai in Arunachal Pradesh, with India represented by Lieutenant General Girish Kalia, Commander of the 3 Corps.

The talks come amid continuing military and diplomatic efforts by India and China to manage outstanding issues along the LAC. The eastern sector, which includes Arunachal Pradesh, remains strategically important for both countries.

The Corps Commander-level engagement is significant as it brings senior operational commanders from the two militaries together for direct discussions on matters concerning the border.

The meeting is expected to provide an important platform for the two sides to exchange views on maintaining stability along the LAC and addressing operational concerns through established military communication mechanisms.

The development assumes added significance against the backdrop of continuing India-China border issues and ongoing efforts to prevent tensions along the frontier from escalating.

The latest engagement underscores the importance of direct military dialogue between the two countries in maintaining peace and stability along the disputed boundary.
