In a recognition of the vital role played by civilian agencies in supporting defence preparedness, Headquarters Training Command, Indian Air Force (IAF) organised a felicitation ceremony on September 16 to honour distinguished civilian officers and institutional partners for their exemplary contribution to the Command’s mission.
Air Marshal S Shrinivas, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Training Command, commended the awardees for their professionalism, commitment and continued support in strengthening civil-military cooperation and inter-agency coordination.
The felicitation recognised officials from diverse fields whose responsibilities directly contribute to the smooth functioning of IAF establishments and operations. Those felicitated included Smt Divya S Hosur, Defence Estate Officer, Karnataka Circle; Shri Manjunatha, Food Safety Officer, Greater Bengaluru Authority; Shri Varun Kumar SV, Range Forest Officer; Shri Rafeeq, Detective Police Inspector, CID Karnataka; Shri KN Jayakumara, Deputy General Manager & Project Director, National Highways Authority of India (NHAI); Shri Ramakrishnappa, Engineering Division, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL); and Smt Mala MV, Executive Guest Experience, Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL).
The recognition highlighted how effective defence operations and training infrastructure depend not only on the armed forces but also on close coordination with civil administration, law enforcement, infrastructure agencies, industry, environmental authorities and aviation stakeholders.
The contributions of the officers and partner organisations have helped facilitate seamless inter-agency cooperation, reinforcing the institutional linkages essential for the IAF’s training ecosystem and operational preparedness.
The ceremony underscored a broader message: strong civil-military cooperation is a force multiplier, enabling defence institutions and civilian agencies to work together efficiently in support of national security and service delivery.
Through such partnerships, the Training Command continues to strengthen the network of cooperation that supports the Indian Air Force’s mission of maintaining a highly trained, prepared and operationally effective force.
