Balochistan has announced a comprehensive vision to develop a modern, inclusive, and internationally competitive sporting nation, with a focus on creating opportunities for Baloch athletes to participate on the global stage.
In a national declaration on international sports participation and global athletic engagement, Mir Yar Baloch outlined Balochistan’s commitment to promoting peace, friendship, fair play, and sporting excellence. The statement emphasized that every talented Baloch athlete should have the opportunity to compete internationally.
According to the declaration, Balochistan plans to establish national federations and governing bodies for major sports, including football, cricket, athletics, hockey, basketball, volleyball, boxing, wrestling, martial arts, tennis, chess, esports, and other disciplines. These institutions will focus on grassroots development, professional coaching, women’s participation, youth empowerment, and athlete welfare.
Mir Yar Baloch stated that Balochistan intends to engage with international sporting organizations in accordance with their respective statutes and membership procedures. These include FIFA, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the International Cricket Council (ICC), World Athletics, FIBA, the International Hockey Federation (FIH), the International Tennis Federation (ITF), the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB), the International Chess Federation (FIDE), the International Esports Federation (IESF), and other regional and international sporting bodies.
The declaration highlighted football’s deep connection with Baloch culture, particularly the historic football traditions of Lyari, a Baloch-majority area widely celebrated for its passion for the sport and often referred to as “Little Brazil.” The statement noted that Lyari has produced talented football players and that during every FIFA World Cup, the area transforms into a celebration of football, with communities coming together in the spirit of the world’s biggest sporting event.
Balochistan announced plans to launch a National Football Development Programme along with similar initiatives in other sports. These programmes aim to identify and nurture talented athletes through modern coaching systems, youth academies, sports science, scholarships, and international exchange opportunities.
Mir Yar Baloch further invited friendly countries, national sports federations, Olympic committees, professional clubs, universities, and international sporting institutions to co-operate with Balochistan by supporting coaching programmes, technical assistance, athlete exchanges, scholarships, friendly matches, and training camps, in accordance with applicable sporting regulations.
The declaration reaffirmed Balochistan’s commitment to integrity, equality, athlete welfare, and internationally recognized principles of fair play.
Mir Yar Baloch’s statement concluded:
