In a historic milestone for the National Cadet Corps (NCC), the first-ever NCC All-Girls Basic Paramotor Training Course has commenced at the NIMAS Paramotor Node, Guwahati, under the aegis of the NCC Directorate North Eastern Region (NER) and HQ DG NCC, New Delhi.

The pioneering course brings together 30 Senior Wing (SW) girl cadets from four states—Karnataka, Telangana, Assam and Nagaland—reflecting the spirit of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat. The initiative marks a significant milestone in the NCC’s adventure training programme and reinforces its commitment to promoting Nari Shakti and Yuva Shakti.
The course is designed to provide cadets with specialised training in paramotoring, an adventure aero-sport that demands discipline, physical fitness, mental resilience and courage. The training begins with rigorous ground instruction, equipment familiarisation and safety drills, before progressively advancing to powered flight operations.
Beyond the technical aspects of flying, the course aims to develop essential qualities of leadership, teamwork, sound decision-making and the ability to overcome fear. Each sortie provides the cadets with an opportunity to step beyond their comfort zones and transform apprehension into confidence.

“This initiative reflects NCC’s continued commitment to empowering young women through adventure and challenging them to discover their full potential. These 30 cadets are not merely learning to fly; they are carrying a message of courage, confidence and empowerment to young women across the country,” an NCC spokesperson said.
With every flight, the cadets are demonstrating that the sky is not a limit, but a new frontier waiting to be explored. The pioneering course stands as a powerful testament to the NCC motto of ‘Unity and Discipline’ and is expected to encourage greater participation of girl cadets in adventure and aero-sport activities in the years ahead.
