Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Dhiraj Seth today visited Headquarters Southern Command in Pune and reviewed the Command’s operational preparedness and ongoing initiatives to enhance its capabilities.
The COAS was briefed by General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Command, Lieutenant General Rajesh Pushkar, on the prevailing operational environment, operational posture, training initiatives and measures being undertaken to further strengthen combat effectiveness and mission readiness.
Interacting with commanders and troops, General Dhiraj Seth emphasised the need to maintain sustained operational readiness, enhance adaptability and accelerate technology absorption in response to the evolving character of warfare. He also stressed the continuous refinement of warfighting competencies and Techniques, Tactics and Procedures (TTPs).
The COAS underscored the importance of realistic and mission-oriented training, greater jointness and development of indigenous capabilities to build an agile, technologically empowered and future-ready Army.
Commending all ranks for their professionalism and dedication, General Dhiraj Seth exhorted them to remain mission-focused, maintain the highest standards of operational preparedness and continue to strengthen the Command’s operational edge.
During the visit, the COAS also felicitated distinguished veterans with the Yoddha Seva Samman, recognising their contributions to veteran welfare, youth empowerment, environmental conservation and community service.
General Dhiraj Seth acknowledged the veterans’ enduring spirit of service and their continued contribution to nation-building. He emphasised that the bond between the Indian Army and its veterans remains lifelong.
