In a significant step towards enhancing youth participation in nation-building initiatives,Maj Gen APS Chahal ,the Additional Director General, NCC Directorate West Bengal & Sikkim, called on Agnimitra Paul, Minister for Urban Development & Municipal Affairs, Government of West Bengal, for a cordial and constructive interaction.
The meeting served as an important platform to deliberate on avenues for strengthening civic responsibility, environmental stewardship, community engagement, and leadership development among the youth. During the interaction, the Minister lauded the exemplary contributions of National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets in the fields of social service, public awareness campaigns, and community outreach programmes across the state.
Discussions focused on identifying areas of mutual cooperation, including urban cleanliness drives, environmental sustainability initiatives, water conservation efforts, disaster preparedness activities, and citizen-centric awareness campaigns. Both sides emphasized the vital role of disciplined and motivated youth in addressing contemporary societal challenges and contributing to national development.
The engagement underscored the shared commitment of the NCC and the Government of West Bengal towards fostering responsible citizenship and community service. It also laid the groundwork for a structured roadmap of collaborative activities aimed at empowering the youth of West Bengal through leadership, volunteerism, and dedicated public service.
