A Baloch activist has sparked discussion on social media after extending greetings to India on Kargil Vijay Diwas while launching a sharp critique of Pakistan’s military establishment and calling for closer ties between New Delhi and the people of Balochistan.
In a post published to mark the anniversary of India’s victory in the 1999 Kargil War, Mir Yar Baloch argued that the conflict was not a war between India and the people of Balochistan, Sindh or the Pashtun regions, but rather a confrontation with Pakistan’s military leadership based in Rawalpindi.
The message alleged that Pakistan’s military abandoned the bodies of its fallen soldiers during the Kargil conflict to minimise reported casualties, claiming that similar practices continue in Balochistan. It further asserted that the Baloch, Sindhi and Pashtun peoples share centuries-old historical and cultural ties with India and advocated expanding cooperation in trade, technology and regional security.
The post also called on India to deepen political engagement with leaders representing Balochistan, Sindhudesh, Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK), Gilgit-Baltistan and Pashtunistan. It urged New Delhi to pursue long-term strategic partnerships while expressing support for what it described as the Baloch struggle for self-determination. The activist also emphasised investing in future generations through education, public service and institution-building.
Mir Yar Baloch wrote:
“Happy Kargil Vijay Diwas to our centuries old neighbor and friend Bharat. Kargil war was not fought between Bharat and Balochistan Bharat and Sindh, Bharat and Pashtunistan, it was fiught between the terrorist mindset of GHQ Rawalpindi and brave Indian Army. The rental army of Islamabad was badly defeated by the Indian army. The unprofessional military of Pakistan abandoned their corpes to show the number of casualties in a less quantity. The same pattern is being repeated by Pakistan army in the Republic of Balochistan where Pakistan army can’t claim it’s fallen soldiers and abandoned it’s arrested personnel in Balochistan.”
The statement added,“The Baloch, Sindhi and Pashtuns have centuries old historic relationship with the people of Bharat. We desire to take our friendly relations to the next level of cooperation which will contribute for durable peace and long term partnership on trade and technology. The time has come for New Delhi to approach the leadership of the Republic of Balochistan, the Sindhudesh, PoJK, G.B and Pashtunistan to sign defense pacts and ask Pakistan to vacate, Baloch and Singh sea and cost, to withdraw from PoJK and Pashtunistan. The Punjabi muslim elite of the Rawalpindi can’t sustain it’s terror infrastructure once Baloch, Sindhi, Kashmiri, Gilgiti and Pashtun are completely free from the chains of Pakistani slavery.”
“The brave, patriotic Baloch nation of the Republic of Balochistan are winning this war. The invading external forces of Pakistan have already lost the ground.Our children are the future army of Balochistan, doctors, engineers, lawyers, legislators, professors, teachers, ambassadors and assets of the Republic of Balochistan.”-Mir Yar Baloch added.
The remarks come amid continued debate over regional security, cross-border tensions and the political future of Balochistan. The activist’s comments, shared on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas, have attracted attention for linking the anniversary of the 1999 conflict with broader calls for stronger India–Balochistan relations and greater regional co-operation.
