On the night of 17 May 2026, West Bengal Police conducted raids at Uttar Pratapgarh’s Fatullapur area in North 24 Parganas. Eight Bangladeshi nationals were arrested from Nimta for allegedly entering India illegally in exchange for money and obtaining Indian identity documents, including Aadhaar cards, PAN cards and bank-related documents.
