In a significant step towards strengthening defence cooperation between India and Australia, a 30-member delegation of the Australian Army, participating in the Australian Defence Strategic Studies Course, visited the Headquarters Eastern Command in Kolkata on Friday.
The delegation, led by Colonel Brandon Wood, held discussions with Lieutenant General Gambhir Singh, Chief of Staff, Headquarters Eastern Command, during which both sides exchanged perspectives on military co-operation and the enduring strategic partnership between the two countries.

As part of the visit, the delegation also toured the Eastern Command Museum, gaining insights into the Indian Army’s rich military heritage, operational history and distinguished legacy.
The engagement underscored the growing defence partnership between India and Australia, reflecting the close ties and mutual commitment to enhancing military-to-military co-operation between the two nations.
