    ASSAM RIFLES COMMANDER CONFERENCE HELD IN SHILLONG

    The Assam Rifles Commanders Conference 2025 was held at the Headquarters Directorate General Assam Rifles, Laitkor, Shillong, today under the chairmanship of Lieutenant General Vikas Lakhera, AVSM, SM, Director General Assam Rifles. The conference witnessed participation from Formation Commanders, Battalion Commanders, and Staff Officers from Headquarters DGAR and various formations.
    Lieutenant General Vikas Lakhera, AVSM, SM, DG Assam Rifles complimented all ranks of the Force for their professional conduct and performance under challenging circumstances. He emphasised on the importance of maintaining security and sanctity of the Indo-Myanmar Border and Kashmir Valley and said that the Assam Rifles should be prepared for all contingencies and security challenges arising in the future.
    The conference also featured in-depth deliberations on enhancing the operational capability and combat potential of the Force. Discussions included formulating a roadmap for the induction of next-generation weapons and equipment, sharing of best practices across formations, and strengthening training and skill development initiatives for personnel.
    During the event, the Assam Rifles Rajbhasha Shield Yojna was also presented, wherein 23 Assam Rifles secured the 1st position, 28 Assam Rifles secured the 2nd position, and 34 Assam Rifles secured the 3rd position for their exemplary implementation of Rajbhasha initiatives. The Director General further appreciated the efforts of Formation and Unit Commanders in maintaining peace and stability in their respective areas of responsibility and urged them to remain vigilant in view of the dynamic security environment.
    The conference concluded with a renewed commitment from all participants to uphold the highest standards of operational excellence and to continue striving for excellence in all domains.
