A Joint Training Exercise and Joint Coordination Conference between the Indian Army and the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) concluded today in Arunachal Pradesh, aimed at enhancing interoperability, operational coordination and combat readiness in the high-altitude and challenging terrain of the region.
The exercise was conducted by the Spearhead Division under the Spear Corps in close synergy with ITBP units deployed in the sector. It reaffirmed the shared commitment of both forces towards strengthening jointness and ensuring a cohesive operational response along the sensitive border areas.
The training programme focused on mission-oriented tactical drills, mountain warfare skills, route reconnaissance and familiarisation, communication procedures, casualty evacuation drills, and coordinated response mechanisms. Operating in demanding terrain and weather conditions, personnel from both organisations rehearsed a range of operational contingencies to refine joint effectiveness in real-time scenarios.
The exercise facilitated enhanced understanding of each other’s operational procedures and significantly improved coordination at the tactical level. It underscored the importance of seamless integration between the Indian Army and ITBP in maintaining robust border management and effective frontline response capabilities.
The joint endeavour reflects the unwavering resolve of both forces to safeguard the nation’s borders through professionalism, teamwork and sustained operational preparedness in evolving security environments.
