Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat), under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, mobilised 2,11,139 participants across 36 States and Union Territories during the sixth week of its 100 Weeks Campaign under the Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat Abhiyan. According to the provisional report, a total of 694 programmes were organised to raise awareness about substance abuse and encourage young people to embrace healthy, addiction-free lifestyles.
The week-long activities focused on three key initiatives: Nashe Ke Ravan Ka Dahan/Nasha Rupi Mahishasur Ka Vadh, traditional sports and Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat Par Paricharcha, conducted through Neighbourhood Youth Parliament sessions.
Using culturally rooted symbolism, the campaign conveyed a strong message of overcoming addiction and rejecting substance abuse. Traditional sports promoted physical fitness, healthy habits and community participation, while youth parliament sessions encouraged open discussions on the harmful consequences of substance abuse, preventive measures and the responsibility of young people in building a drug-free society.

The programmes were organised in collaboration with FIT India and partner organisations, including Brahma Kumaris, Heartfulness, FICCI, CIPU, ASSOCHAM and Project Point. The collective effort brought together youth networks, community institutions and partner organisations to expand the campaign’s reach and strengthen public participation in the fight against substance abuse.
As part of the initiative, 2,11,139 pledges were recorded in support of the goal of a drug-free India. The campaign sought to translate awareness into individual responsibility and community action, encouraging young people to adopt substance-free lifestyles and motivate others to stay away from addictive substances.
Through its 100 Weeks Campaign, MY Bharat continues to engage youth and communities through awareness drives, participatory programmes and youth-led initiatives. The sixth week’s activities highlighted the role of cultural traditions, sports and community dialogue in preventing substance abuse and promoting informed choices.
The initiative reinforces the broader vision of Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat, encouraging young citizens to contribute to healthier communities and the national goal of a developed India.
