India Rejects Pakistan-China Boundary Joint Commission as Legally Invalid

India has rejected the so-called Pakistan-China Boundary Joint Commission, stating that Pakistan has no locus standi to enter into any arrangements concerning Indian territory under what New Delhi describes as Pakistan’s illegal and forcible occupation.

Responding to media queries, Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said India had taken note of reports regarding the matter and reiterated that New Delhi’s position remains “clear and consistent.”

Jaiswal said India rejects the Pakistan-China Boundary Joint Commission, asserting that it has no legal basis. He also reiterated that the Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh have been, are, and will always remain integral and inalienable parts of India.

The MEA spokesperson further stated that India has never recognised the so-called 1963 China-Pakistan Boundary Agreement and has consistently maintained that the agreement is illegal and invalid.

India, he said, firmly opposes and rejects any attempt to alter the status of territories under occupation or to legitimise what New Delhi describes as illegal occupation.

Jaiswal called upon Pakistan to immediately vacate the areas under what India describes as its illegal and forcible occupation, rather than undertaking what he termed “such theatrics.”
