The Border Security Force (BSF) South Bengal Frontier organised a 15-km cycle rally in Kolkata on Wednesday to mark International Youth Day 2026, with an aim to promote physical fitness, environmental awareness and responsible citizenship among young people.

The rally was flagged off by Shri Daljeet Singh, IPS, Inspector General, HQ BSF South Bengal Frontier, in the presence of senior BSF officers. Personnel from various ranks participated in the event with enthusiasm.

The rally began at the BSF Frontier Headquarters in Rajarhat and proceeded towards the iconic Biswa Bangla Gate before returning to the headquarters.

During the rally, participants carried messages encouraging young people to adopt a healthy lifestyle, maintain physical fitness, protect the environment and contribute positively to society.

The event also drew an enthusiastic response from residents along the route. Members of the public gathered at several points to watch the cyclists and extended their support, adding to the spirit of the occasion.

The BSF said the initiative was aimed at encouraging greater awareness among youth about fitness, environmental responsibility and their role in building a healthier and more responsible society.
