Governor R.N. Ravi inaugurated a week-long exhibition titled “Celebrating Freedom through Bengal” at Lok Bhavan ahead of Independence Day, highlighting Bengal’s significant contribution to India’s national freedom movement.
The exhibition features a collection of rare artefacts and memorabilia documenting Bengal’s rich legacy of courage, sacrifice and political awakening during the struggle for independence.
Organised as part of Lok Bhavan’s efforts to connect the younger generation with the region’s historical legacy, the exhibition seeks to encourage greater awareness of the ideals and values that shaped the freedom movement.
The initiative also aims to inspire young people to understand and carry forward these ideals in contributing to the development of a strong, self-reliant and confident India.
The exhibition will remain open for a week at Lok Bhavan, offering visitors an opportunity to explore materials associated with Bengal’s role in the country’s freedom struggle.
