In a significant initiative to nurture young talent, foster creativity and promote holistic development, Gajraj Corps inaugurated TARANG 2026, a four-day Inter-School Cultural Fest at Army Public School, Tezpur. The vibrant festival brings together 25 schools and nearly 800 students from Sonitpur district, providing a dynamic platform for young minds to compete, collaborate and showcase their abilities across cultural, sporting and intellectual domains.

Inspired by the theme “युवा शक्ति, संस्कृति और सृजन से नवभारत निर्माण”, TARANG 2026 seeks to go beyond conventional classroom learning by encouraging students to discover their potential, embrace healthy competition and develop confidence, leadership and creativity.

The inaugural ceremony was graced by Lieutenant General Neeraj Shukla, AVSM, SM, General Officer Commanding, Gajraj Corps, as the Chief Guest, in the presence of the Vice-Chancellor, Tezpur University, distinguished academicians and Principals of participating schools. The unveiling of the TARANG Rolling Trophy further symbolised excellence, perseverance, teamwork and the enduring spirit of healthy competition.

Addressing the young participants, the GOC encouraged them to view challenges as opportunities for growth and to cultivate discipline, courage, integrity, critical thinking, perseverance and independent thought. Drawing meaningful lessons from the Mahabharata, the symbolism of the Ten Faces of Ravan and the complexities of the digital age, he emphasised that knowledge and talent must be complemented by strong character, responsible choices and moral courage.

TARANG 2026 also exemplifies a meaningful Army–Academia–School partnership, bringing together institutions and communities with a shared commitment to youth empowerment and nation-building. The participation of children from adopted village Parowa adds a strong dimension of inclusiveness, community engagement and equal opportunity, reaffirming the importance of ensuring that every young talent receives a platform to grow and excel.

TARANG 2026 will feature a wide spectrum of cultural, sporting and intellectual competitions, providing students with opportunities to demonstrate creativity, leadership, teamwork, resilience, confidence and camaraderie. Beyond competition, the festival aims to create lasting experiences that inspire students to learn from one another, respect diversity and strive for excellence.

The initiative underscores the continued commitment of Gajraj Corps towards empowering the youth, strengthening community connect and creating meaningful avenues for holistic development. By bringing together schools, academia, communities and the Armed Forces, TARANG 2026 contributes to the larger vision of Viksit Bharat @2047, where a confident, capable and character-driven youth force becomes a cornerstone of national progress.
