The Indian Army and Assam Rifles, under the aegis of Spear Corps, are continuing humanitarian assistance under Operation Jal Rahat by undertaking a large-scale flood relief distribution drive at Sonari in Charaideo district of Assam, reaffirming their commitment to the welfare of flood-affected communities.
As part of the joint relief effort, essential food supplies were distributed to more than 3,265 flood-affected civilians to meet their immediate sustenance requirements. The relief drive also included the distribution of 386 clothing items to affected families, along with safe drinking water and other essential relief materials to address urgent humanitarian needs.
The ongoing operation reflects the Armed Forces’ steadfast commitment to providing timely assistance and mitigating the hardships faced by communities affected by floods. Through close coordination with the civil administration and sustained humanitarian outreach, the Indian Army and Assam Rifles continue to support relief and rehabilitation efforts, providing reassurance and assistance to the people of Assam during this challenging period.
