Karnataka and Goa NCC shooters turned in a commanding performance at the prestigious All India GV Mavalankar Shooting Competition, returning with two gold and three bronze medals while also booking places in upcoming national-level competitions.
Leading the charge was Senior Under Officer Yogaraj Ramagonatti of 28 Kar Bn NCC, who clinched gold in the Open Prone event with a composed display of accuracy and consistency.
The Directorate’s second gold came from Sergeant Gowri S of 1 Kar Bn NCC, who topped the Open 3 Position (3P) category and, in the process, set a new meet record.
The medal haul was further strengthened by three bronze-medal finishes, underlining the depth of talent within the Karnataka and Goa NCC shooting contingent.
Beyond the podium, six cadets also secured qualification for national-level competitions, earning the opportunity to represent the Directorate on the bigger stage.
The performances reflected the cadets’ precision, discipline and composure under competitive pressure.
Congratulating the shooters and officials, Deputy Director General Air Commodore Kamal Chadha praised their dedication and focus, saying the achievement reflected the finest traditions of the National Cadet Corps.
With two gold medals, a new meet record and six national qualifications, the Karnataka and Goa NCC contingent emerged as one of the notable performers at the competition.
