Indian Naval Ships Udaygiri, Shakti and Kavaratti of the Eastern Fleet, led by Rear Admiral Alok Anand, Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Fleet, concluded a successful port call at Changi Naval Base, Singapore, as part of the Indian Navy’s operational deployment to the region.

The visit reaffirmed the strong strategic and maritime partnership between India and Singapore and was conducted in consonance with the ASEAN–India Year of Maritime Cooperation and the Government of India’s Act East Policy. Over the three-day engagement, personnel from both navies participated in a series of professional interactions, including cross-deck visits and bilateral engagements, aimed at enhancing interoperability, strengthening operational cooperation and fostering mutual understanding between the two maritime forces.

As part of the outreach programme, school students visited INS Kavaratti, where they were provided first-hand insight into naval operations, life onboard a frontline warship and the core values and traditions of the Indian Navy.

The successful completion of the port call marks another significant milestone in the expanding maritime partnership between India and Singapore. The engagements undertaken during the visit have further strengthened professional ties, enhanced operational synergy and reaffirmed the shared commitment of both navies towards promoting peace, stability and security across the Indo-Pacific region.
