Demonstrating its continued commitment to the welfare of veterans, the Red Shield Division under Spear Corps organised a Medical Camp for Ex-Servicemen, Veer Naris and their dependents at Rupai, Assam, today.
The camp witnessed the participation of nearly 150 beneficiaries and provided a range of healthcare services, including medical consultations, health screenings, dental check-ups and specialist advice. A dedicated team of medical professionals also conducted counselling sessions to promote mental well-being and distributed essential medicines free of cost. Participants were sensitised on preventive healthcare and healthy lifestyle practices.
In addition, a SPARSH Grievance Cell was established to assist veterans with pension-related issues, documentation, digital registration and grievance redressal. The facility enabled one-on-one interactions, ensuring timely resolution of concerns and enhanced awareness of available services.
As a gesture of gratitude and respect, Veer Naris attending the event were felicitated for their sacrifice and invaluable contribution to the nation.
The initiative provided an important platform for engagement between the Indian Army and the veteran community, further strengthening bonds of trust and mutual support. Participants appreciated the Army’s efforts in bringing essential healthcare and administrative services closer to Ex-Servicemen and their families.
The event reaffirmed the Indian Army’s enduring ethos of caring for those who have served the nation and its unwavering commitment to the well-being of the veteran fraternity.
