Lieutenant General P K Mishra, UYSM, AVSM, YSM, SM, General Officer Commanding, White Knight Corps, visited Sainik School Nagrota and inaugurated newly constructed Synthetic Tennis, Volleyball, Basketball and Badminton Courts. Mrs Archana Mishra, Zonal President, AWWA White Knight Corps, also attended the programme.
The visit highlighted the enduring association between the Defence Forces and Sainik School Nagrota and provided an opportunity for cadets and students to interact with senior military leadership. The GOC interacted with the cadets and encouraged them to pursue excellence in academics, sports and character building.
A key highlight of the visit was the presentation of the GOC’s Medallion for Distinguished Service to four employees of Sainik School Nagrota in recognition of their exemplary dedication and contribution to the institution. The awardees were Shri Sandeep Kumar, Senior Master and PGT (Chemistry); Shri Saroj Kumar Thakur, Lab Assistant; Shri Mahendra Singh Chauhan, PA to Principal; and Shri Chunni Lal, GE (Mason).
The recognition acknowledged the significant contribution of the school’s civilian staff towards academic excellence, administration and infrastructure development. The school magazine, The Chinar, was also released on the occasion.
Mrs Archana Mishra attended the Investiture Ceremony of Chinar Primary School, the junior wing of Sainik School Nagrota, where young students formally assumed various leadership responsibilities. The ceremony reflected the institution’s emphasis on inculcating leadership, discipline, responsibility and a spirit of service among students from an early age.
A colourful cultural programme presented by the students added vibrancy to the event and showcased their confidence, creativity and talent. A new library at Chinar Primary School was also inaugurated, providing young learners with an enhanced environment for reading, exploration and intellectual development.
The newly inaugurated sports facilities are expected to provide cadets with improved opportunities for systematic training and competitive preparation. The facilities reinforce the school’s focus on physical fitness, teamwork, sportsmanship and holistic development.
The visit marked an important milestone in Sainik School Nagrota’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its infrastructure while nurturing leadership, character, academic excellence and physical fitness among its cadets and students.
The occasion concluded with a renewed commitment to the school’s core objective of preparing disciplined, capable and confident young citizens committed to serving the nation.
