As part of his ongoing visit to the Eastern Command, Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), General Dhiraj Seth, conducted a comprehensive review of the operational preparedness of Gajraj Corps and 101 Area. The visit focused on assessing combat readiness, infrastructure development in forward areas, and the progress of indigenous modernisation initiatives aimed at strengthening the Indian Army’s operational and logistical capabilities.
Senior military commanders briefed the COAS on the prevailing operational environment, force deployment, and the enhancement of critical infrastructure along the eastern theatre. The review also highlighted the integration of indigenous technologies and modern capabilities designed to improve operational effectiveness, mobility, and sustainment in challenging terrain.
Interacting with officers, Junior Commissioned Officers, and troops, General Seth commended all ranks for their unwavering professionalism, high standards of operational readiness, and dedication to duty. He particularly praised the seamless coordination maintained with the Indian Air Force, other sister services, and civil administration, underscoring the importance of jointness and multidomain synergy in addressing contemporary security challenges.
The COAS also acknowledged the exemplary role played by Gajraj Corps and 101 Area in humanitarian assistance and disaster relief operations, internal security responsibilities, and nation-building efforts across Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, and Meghalaya. He noted that the Army’s sustained engagement with local communities and civil authorities continues to reinforce national resilience and regional stability.
Reiterating the Indian Army’s strategic priorities, General Seth emphasised that operational preparedness, technological transformation, and the pursuit of self-reliance through indigenous capability development remain fundamental to building a future-ready force. He stated that these pillars will continue to drive the Army’s transformation while contributing to the national vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
