Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has completed the redevelopment of three railway stations under the Centre’s Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, further advancing the modernization of railway infrastructure in Assam and West Bengal. The redeveloped stations are Majbat in Rangiya Division, Jalpaiguri Road in Alipurduar Division and Haldibari in Katihar Division. An Assam Rifles soldier was killed and four others were injured after a suspected Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast targeted an Assam Rifles vehicle near Sukhovi in Nagaland’s Chümoukedima district today.
