Demonstrating its unwavering commitment towards humanitarian service, youth empowerment and community welfare, the Assam Rifles conducted a series of civic action and outreach programmes across Kakching, Churachandpur, Imphal West, Imphal East and Bishnupur districts of Manipur.
As part of the observance of World Blood Donor Day, a Voluntary Blood Donation Camp was organised at Sangai Auditorium, Pallel Garrison, Kakching District, on 12 June 2026 under the theme “One Drop of Humanity, Give Blood, Save Lives.” Conducted in collaboration with civil and military medical specialists, the camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from both security personnel and civilians, with approximately 190 voluntary blood donors contributing to this noble cause. Simultaneously, the Assam Rifles organised a Weapon Display Programme at Pallel Garrison for approximately 80 aspirants from the Guardian Defence Academy. Continuing its efforts to mentor and inspire young citizens, a career guidance session and weapon display were conducted on 13 June 2026 for 54 cadets of the 65th NCC Girls Battalion at Churachandpur. During the interactive session, Assam Rifles officials provided detailed information on entry schemes, selection procedures and opportunities available in the Armed Forces. The programmes offered participants valuable exposure to military equipment and service life, fostering discipline, motivation and national pride among the youth.
In parallel, the Assam Rifles launched an extensive humanitarian outreach initiative to support internally displaced persons (IDPs) and vulnerable communities affected by the ongoing situation in Manipur. A Mega Medical and Humanitarian Assistance Camp was organised at Lamboi Khongnangkhong Relief Camp in Imphal West District, where senior officials interacted with displaced families and assessed their welfare requirements.
Essential household utensils and tiffin services were distributed to families residing in relief camps at Lamboi Khongnangkhong and Sagoltongba in Imphal West District, as well as Sownbung in Imphal East District. Stationery items were also distributed to local youth to support uninterrupted education.
A comprehensive medical camp was conducted by a combined team of 32 civil and military healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses and pharmacists from the Manipur Health Department and the Assam Rifles. Specialist consultations in general medicine, gynaecology and dental care were provided to 538 beneficiaries, comprising 273 men, 176 women and 89 children. Additionally, 41 beneficiaries received specialised dental treatment. Free medicines were distributed, and awareness sessions on monsoon hygiene, sanitation and disease prevention were conducted to promote community health and well-being.
Further extending its humanitarian efforts, the Assam Rifles visited the Ema Foundation Orphanage in Imphal West District. During the interaction, educational supplies including school bags, water bottles, tiffin boxes and stationery were distributed to 20 orphaned children. The initiative aimed to support their educational needs and reinforce a sense of care and encouragement among the children.
To strengthen civil-military cooperation and promote communal harmony, a community interaction programme was also organised at Nambol in Bishnupur District. The event witnessed participation from members of local civil society organisations, including Meira Paibis, welfare groups and youth representatives. Discussions focused on the prevailing security situation, maintenance of peace, communal harmony and public health awareness during the monsoon season. Participants expressed appreciation for the Assam Rifles’ continued humanitarian assistance and security efforts, which have enabled local communities to pursue their daily livelihood activities in a secure environment.
