In a significant initiative to promote youth empowerment and encourage careers in the armed forces, the Assam Rifles has helped a young aspirant from Manipur clear the National Defence Academy (NDA) II 2026 written examination through dedicated coaching and mentorship.
Master Gabriel Ditsak Pulamte, son of Shri Vanlalnghak Pulamte and Smt Lalsiemmawi, hails from Rengkai village in Churachandpur district. The Assam Rifles, based at Khuga in Churachandpur, provided him with a three-month written examination coaching programme, supported by structured academic guidance, rigorous preparation and mentoring. His success marks a significant milestone in his ambition to join the Indian Armed Forces.
Following his achievement, the Sector Commander of the Assam Rifles facilitated an interactive session with the successful candidate to guide him through the next stage of the selection process — the Services Selection Board (SSB) interview.
During the interaction, the Sector Commander emphasised the importance of discipline, effective communication, self-confidence and determination in navigating the comprehensive selection process. He encouraged Gabriel to remain focused on his long-term aspirations and extended his best wishes for success in the upcoming SSB interview.
The initiative underscores the Assam Rifles’ continued efforts to nurture local talent, support aspiring defence personnel and create opportunities for young people in the region. Such mentorship programmes not only encourage youth to pursue careers in the armed forces but also strengthen the bond between the Assam Rifles and local communities, contributing to regional development and nation-building.
