    Army Commander Eastern Command Visits HQ IGAR (N), Interacts with Ceasefire Monitoring Group Chairman

    Lt Gen V.M.B. Krishnan, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Command, accompanied by the GOC SPEAR CORPS, visited Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (North) to review the prevailing security situation, operational preparedness and ongoing operational initiatives in the region.

    During the visit, the Army Commander was briefed on the operational environment, current security dynamics and the operational preparedness of the formation. He interacted with officers and troops, appreciating their professionalism, dedication and unwavering commitment towards maintaining peace, security and stability in the region. In recognition of exemplary devotion to duty, he presented Commendation Cards to deserving personnel.

    Later, the Army Commander held a focused interaction with the Chairman, Ceasefire Monitoring Group (CFMG), to review the prevailing security situation and discuss key issues pertaining to security, coordination and the effective implementation of ceasefire mechanisms. The deliberations underscored the importance of sustained inter-agency cooperation, enhanced coordination and collaborative efforts towards ensuring lasting peace and stability in the region.

    The visit reaffirmed the Eastern Command’s steadfast commitment to operational excellence, effective coordination among all stakeholders and the continued pursuit of peace, security and stability in the North Eastern region.
