Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Dhiraj Seth visited forward areas along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Poonch, Rajouri and Sunderbani sectors to review the prevailing security situation and assess the Indian Army’s operational preparedness in Jammu.

During the visit, the Army Chief was briefed by the White Knight Corps on the evolving security environment along the LoC, including operational deployments, counter-infiltration measures, surveillance architecture, and the overall counter-insurgency grid operating in the region.

Senior commanders also apprised General Seth of ongoing field innovations aimed at enhancing operational effectiveness, as well as the formation’s integrated operational readiness to address both conventional and sub-conventional security challenges.

The COAS reviewed infrastructure development projects undertaken in the forward areas to improve operational logistics and enhance troop sustainment. He also assessed the Army’s people-centric initiatives focused on empowering residents of India’s border villages through community development programmes and improved civic infrastructure.

Commending the troops for maintaining a high state of operational readiness, General Seth praised all ranks for their professionalism, operational excellence, and unwavering commitment to safeguarding the nation’s borders.
He urged personnel to remain mission-focused, maintain operational agility, and continue striving for excellence in fulfilling their responsibilities along one of India’s most sensitive frontiers.

The visit underscores the Indian Army’s continued emphasis on maintaining robust operational preparedness along the Line of Control amid evolving security challenges while strengthening engagement with border communities in the Jammu region.
