Maj Gen APS Chahal, ADG, NCC Directorate West Bengal & Sikkim, called on the Minister-in-Charge, Department of Higher Education, Government of West Bengal, Shri Jagannath Chattopadhyay, to discuss the wide-ranging activities being undertaken by the National Cadet Corps across the state under the aegis of NCC Directorate West Bengal & Sikkim.
The interaction highlighted the NCC’s pivotal role in shaping disciplined, responsible, and nation-building youth, while also bringing to the fore the key challenges associated with expanding its reach and strengthening training infrastructure across the state.
During the meeting, the Minister assured the ADG of the Government of West Bengal’s wholehearted support in furthering the growth of the NCC and reaffirmed the Department’s commitment to working closely with the Directorate to empower more young men and women through the ideals of Unity and Discipline.
As an important step towards strengthening its legacy and expanding opportunities for students, NCC Directorate West Bengal & Sikkim also looks forward to reconnecting with its historic roots at the University of Calcutta and the University Corps (UCC), reinforcing the long-standing association between higher education institutions and the NCC movement in the state.
