Shri Jitendra Prasad, VSM, Additional Director General (East), Border Roads Organisation (BRO), undertook a visit to the Area of Responsibility (AoR) of Project Udayak from August 16 to 19, 2026, to review the progress of ongoing works and interact with BRO personnel deployed in the challenging terrain of the Northeast.
During his visit to Project Headquarters, the ADG was briefed on the project’s overall planning, priorities and schedule of works for the current year, along with the proposed plan for the ensuing year. He reviewed key operational and developmental objectives and provided guidance on their effective and timely execution.
Shri Jitendra Prasad also visited forward areas and inspected the progress of various works on the ground. Interacting with officers and personnel deployed in demanding operational conditions, he took stock of field-level challenges and offered practical guidance aimed at improving the execution, quality and pace of ongoing projects.
Drawing on his extensive experience in the Border Roads Organisation and service in challenging operational environments, the ADG encouraged personnel to make optimum use of their capabilities and strive to achieve targets beyond expectations. His interaction with the field teams provided renewed motivation and reinforced their sense of purpose towards the organisation’s mission.
The ADG assured the Project Udayak team of continued support and guidance from Higher Headquarters in meeting assigned objectives and delivering strategic infrastructure within stipulated timelines.
The visit underscored the BRO’s commitment to the timely development of critical infrastructure in some of the most difficult and inhospitable terrain of the Northeast. It also served as a source of encouragement for the personnel of Project Udayak, who continue to execute their responsibilities under challenging conditions.
The visit aptly reflected the enduring ethos of the Border Roads Organisation.
